The Uruz Sanskriti Foundation student organization, operating under the esteemed Division of Student Organization at Lovely Professional University, orchestrated a vibrant and engaging 6-a-side cricket tournament. This event, meticulously organized, aimed to foster camaraderie and sportsmanship among students while showcasing their cricketing prowess. With meticulous planning and coordination, the tournament offered a platform for budding cricket enthusiasts to exhibit their talent and passion for the sport. Rules and Regulations of the activity:

1.     Registration:

A.   Teams must register for the tournament by completing a registration form provided by the organizing committee.

B. Each team must pay a registration fee determined by the organizing committee.

C. The deadline for registration will be announced by the organizing committee and must be strictly adhered to.

           4. Tournament:

                1. Team Composition: Each team will consist of 6 to 7 players. A minimum of 6 players must be present to start a match.

 

2. Match Format: Matches will be played in 5 overs per side.

 

3. Pitch Size: The cricket pitch will be confined to a designated area to suit the proper cricket format (22 yards).

 

4. Bowling: Only one bowler can deliver a maximum of 2 overs per match. Others will only be allowed to bowl 1 over each.

 

5. Advantage rules: Each team would be provided with choice of bowling 1 tape ball over each.

 

6. Dismissals: Batsmen can be dismissed by getting bowled, caught, run out, stumped.

 

7. No-Balls and Wide Deliveries: No-balls and wide deliveries will be penalized with additional runs to the batting team.

 

8. Fielding Restrictions: Fielders must remain within the designated playing area and are not allowed to obstruct the batsmen or impede the progress of the game.

 

9. Umpiring: Umpires' decisions are final and binding. Respect for the umpires and opposition players is expected from all participants.

 

10. Code of Conduct: Any form of unsportsmanlike behaviour, including verbal abuse, physical altercation, or cheating, will result in disciplinary action, including potential expulsion from the tournament.

11. If the scores are level at the end of the game, the team losing fewer wickets is the winner. If the teams have lost the same number of wickets the team hitting the most sixes shall be declared the winner. If the teams still cannot be separated, it shall be declared a Tie.
